Novalatte is a Jazz/Pop/Funk/Fusion band who had been playing music together since the Summer of 2014. They have experimented with different kinds of tunes to figure out their sound over time and had even written some of their own original music. Always up for a fun time and new adventures, Novalatte had recorded an EP over the past winter that features their original tunes as well as a couple covers to show their versatility.
This however, will be their last show as a band in Ottawa as their lead singer is moving away to Singapore in June. They are very excited to share their work with you, and the limited number of CDs that you can keep forever in memory of this band and all the great times had. Novalatte welcomes you to come celebrate, party, and dance one more time with them!
Archy The Cockroach
Between spring and summer tours is where you find Archy The Cockroach at the moment, blending ambiant folk rock and indie shoegaze. The latest record "Lone And Longing Night" has been described by critics as an expansion of the folk origins with new energy and panache. The live show is an evolution of the recordings which can involve guests spots by any number of talented humans. Probably best to come see it for yourself.
After picking up the guitar in his early teens, Liam Meagher has had a hard time putting it down. Pursuing his passion for music through a degree at Carleton University, he fell in love with all aspects of the art form, including recording and production. The past few years have seen him record numerous artists under the guidance of the legendary Ross Murray, join Harea Band, and teach both privately and with the Bluesfest School of Music and Arts.
Fresh off a one-show wonder performance with his old band Red Soup back in 2010, MCHP is passive-aggressively taking the Ottawa music scene by storm. With a melodic folk-punk sound, he's sure to delight your ears, and tap into that teen-age angst you didn't know you had, while making you feel bad about not buying fair trade. Musical influence has changed over the years, but you'll find him listening to a lot of American Football, Algernon Cadwallader and A Great Big Pile of Leaves.
